Job description
Responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards on EPC and Power Plant projects to ensure compliance with project requirements, client specifications, and local regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the Project HSE Management Plan in line with EPC and client requirements.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Carry out risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and method statement reviews.
- Monitor high‑risk activities including:
- Heavy lifting operations
- Work at height
- Confined space entry
- Hot works and electrical works
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure strict compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents and prepare incident reports.
- Coordinate closely with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and client HSE teams.
- Maintain updated HSE records, inspection checklists, and reports.
- Support emergency preparedness drills and site emergency response activities.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project site.
Skills
Qualifications & Certification:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Safety, or related technical discipline)
- NEBOSH IGC – Mandatory
- IOSH Managing Safely (Preferred)
- Additional certifications are an advantage:
- OSHA
- Fire & Safety Diploma
- First Aid / Work at Height / Confined Space / LOTO
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience as an HSE Officer
- Proven experience in EPC projects, preferably in:
- Power Plants (Thermal, Combined Cycle, Renewable)
- Substations and industrial construction projects
- Experience during construction, erection, and commissioning phases is a strong advantage.
