To support the research, design, and development of new and existing HVAC products under the guidance of senior engineering staff. The R&D Engineer contributes to product innovation, design improvement, and validation activities, ensuring compliance with technical standards and supporting the transition of designs from concept to prototype and production.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist in the design and development of new HVAC products, including chillers, rooftop units, AHUs, FCUs, and condensing units, under senior engineering supervision.
2. Contribute to product enhancement and cost-reduction initiatives through component analysis, material evaluation, and design modifications.
3. Prepare and update engineering drawings, sketches, and 3D models using CAD software under the direction of senior engineers.
4. Support the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products.
5. Assist in the coordination of prototype builds, including parts procurement, assembly support, and documentation.
6. Participate in laboratory testing and validation of products and components, recording data and assisting in analysis under supervision.
7. Help compile technical data and documentation required for product certifications and compliance with standards such as ASHRAE, AHRI, UL, and Eurovent.
8. Support root cause analysis of product issues in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams.
9. Assist in the preparation of technical reports, product manuals, catalog data, and performance summaries.
10. Collaborate with suppliers to gather technical information on components and materials.
11. Stay informed on emerging HVAC technologies, materials, and industry trends.
12. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.
13. Follow established engineering and documentation processes.
14. Adhere to all safety protocols in office, lab, and manufacturing environments.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the R&D Manager

Skills
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE LEVEL
-Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
-3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering, preferably in HVAC, appliance, or mechanical product design and development. Fresh graduates with strong academic and project background may be considered.
-EIT (Engineer in Training) or similar progress toward professional licensure is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
-Technical Foundation: Understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, and basic HVAC systems.
-CAD Proficiency: Hands-on experience with 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CREO/Pro-E, SolidWorks).
-Analytical Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations, interpret data, and support engineering analysis.
-Standards Awareness: Familiarity with key HVAC industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, UL) is beneficial.
-Software Skills: Competent in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) is advantageous.
-Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with engineers and technicians.
