Instrument & Control Engineer

  • Responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.
  • Control and instrumentation (C&D) engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.
  • To supervise the maintenance of plants, buildings, equipment, components or systems, to ensure the work is executed to the client's specifications. to make sure that these systems and processes operate effectively, and safely.
  • To plan and schedule the work and efficiently organize the site / facilities in order to meet an agreed program of deadlines.
  • To attend regular meetings with clients, architects and consultants and keeping them informed of progress.
  • To supervise and monitor the site labor force through General Foreman and or Supervisors, monitoring the work of any subcontractors to complete the work as per customer's satisfaction.
  • To oversee quality control and safety matters on the site, and ensure that regulations are adhered to.
  • To resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
  • To oversee the selection and requisition of materials for use in the construction / maintenance, to check whether the materials are as specified.
  • To supervise and ensure proper maintenance of materials and to advise on technology and modifications required for a simpler and cost saving mechanism.
  • To prepare necessary paperwork for the completion of work and get it authorized by the client after their inspection.
  • To develop a relationship with the Project Engineer and prepare periodical reports on the progress of work
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards testing, maintaining and modifying existing systems

You'll need to develop skills in specific control disciplines, such as:

·      Advanced process control (APC) distributed control systems (DCS)

·      Programmable logic controllers (PLC),

·      Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)

Skills

  • Instrumentation Design: Proficient in designing and selecting appropriate instrumentation for various applications, ensuring accuracy and reliability in measurements.
  • Control Systems Engineering: Expertise in control theory and system dynamics, with experience in programming PLCs and DCS for process automation.
  • Technical Documentation: Skilled in creating comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, user manuals, and design reports that facilitate understanding and compliance.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
