We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Outside Plant Technician to join our dynamic team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of outside plant telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. The Outside Plant Technician will work closely with various teams to deliver high-quality service to our clients while adhering to industry regulations and best practices. A minimum of five years of experience in installation and testing of outside plant facilities is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Install and maintain outside plant fiber optic and copper cabling systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
2. Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of existing telecommunications infrastructure to identify and resolve issues promptly.
3. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and execute installation projects, ensuring timely completion and quality assurance.
4. Utilize specialized tools and equipment for splicing, testing, and repairing fiber optic cables, ensuring optimal performance.
5. Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, including installation records, maintenance logs, and service reports.
6. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working in various environments, including outdoor and construction sites, demonstrating skills required to enter manholes safely.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a collaborative team environment.
8. Respond to service calls and emergencies, providing quick and effective solutions to minimize downtime for clients.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly regarding cable identification and color coding.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as an Outside Plant Technician or in a similar role within the telecommunications industry, with a minimum of five years in installation and testing.
2. Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling systems, including installation and maintenance techniques.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and adhering to safety standards.
6. Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments, including heights and confined spaces.
7. Valid driver's license and the ability to operate company vehicles safely.
