Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of Italian cuisine under the guidance of the Head Chef.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety practices in the kitchen.
  • Support in the development of new menu items and seasonal dishes.
  • Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff to ensure they adhere to the restaurant’s standards.
  • Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and assist with inventory control.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and plated to the restaurant’s specifications and quality standards.
  • Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setup and cleanup.
  • Handle food allergies and dietary restrictions with care and attention.


Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Vocational training in culinary arts or a related field.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within an Italian restaurant or high-volume kitchen.
  • Experience in leading small teams and contributing to a collaborative kitchen environment.
  • Proven ability to create and replicate authentic Italian dishes.
