The Account Manager is responsible for liaising with the agency’s many clients and is the link between the various departments within the agency and the clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages the relationship between the agency & the client.
- Within the agency, protects the client’s interest.
- When talking to the client, protects the agency’s interest.
- Coordinates all account requirements and ensures that all work is produced on time and within the client’s budget.
- A good team player, responsible for building a good relationship with the client and the agency team members.
- Plays a key role in the development of communication and creative strategies.
- Shows leadership and drive in thinking of innovative solutions to business/strategic problems and in merchandising the agency’s services (cross-selling).
- Assists other departments with forward planning on current or future projects.
- Has a thorough working knowledge of all agency systems.
- Has a thorough understanding of the client’s business and the major factors/trends shaping their market(s).
- Is the agency team’s first port of call for all questions relating to client issues.
- Foresees any client issues/questions or internal resourcing issues before they arise.
- Acts as the creative team’s main day-to-day contact, providing direction on creative briefs.
- Is a sound judge of creative work and can coherently argue whether work is on or off brief.
- Masters a range of presentation techniques and considers the most appropriate and inspiring way to present each piece of work.
- Works closely with the media planner to produce inspiring and unusual media strategies that provide a showcase for the agency’s creative work while delivering against specified coverage/frequency targets.
Key Deliverables:
- Daily client contact.
- Creation and management of project timelines.
- Writing inspiring briefs on communication projects.
- Assisting the Account Director in briefing creative.
- Liaising with the copywriter, media manager, and strategy department.
- Managing internal creative presentation sessions.
