Tank Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a talented Tank Maintenance Engineer to manage and execute the Tank Maintenance Plan for the WJO Oil Export Terminal, ensuring all activities are completed as per schedule through the tank maintenance services contract.


Responsibilities


  • Overall accountability for accomplishing all activities pertaining to WJO Oil Export Terminals. Tank maintenance plan through the tank maintenance services contract.
  • Familiar with all procedures involved in tank maintenance, not limited to deludging, cleaning (non-man entry type and manual), preparing the tank for lifting, lifting utilizing hydraulic jacks, replacing concrete ring beam foundation, replacing annular plate and bottom plate (partial/full), repairs/replacements of shell plate, roof deck, pontoons, COD, accessways, nozzles, internal sumps, gauging appurtenances, roof seals (primary & secondary), roof drain hose, internal & external CP anodes, dike wall, associated piping etc. Initiates & issues service orders in time after necessary approvals to meet the tank maintenance schedule. Issues permits to the contractor for all the above-mentioned works and supervising daily work at site.
  • Familiar with reading & understanding tank drawings and ensuring that the repair works on the tanks are carried out as per as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate with the tank maintenance contractor through the Company's authorized representative on all matters related to the tank maintenance.
  • He must also have experience in abrasive blasting, fiberglass lining, and painting works.
  • Provides technical support on critical issues related to tank maintenance activities.
  • Coordinates all activities as required between Company's various concerned teams like EHS, Inspection & Corrosion, and Operations for smooth execution of the tank maintenance jobs.
  • Monitors & tracks contractor's schedules, weekly, and monthly reports to meet WJO's tank maintenance plan.
  • Familiar with all types of materials required for tank maintenance activities. Prepares/ reviews the material specifications, quantities and assists the maintenance team in procurement activities. Review material bids for meeting technical requirements. Ensures all materials are planned and ordered on time to ensure availability during the maintenance of tanks.
  • Responsible for measuring/quantifying & verifying the services carried out by the contractor as per the service orders and invoices. Document precise quantities of work executed and materials supplied during tank maintenance activities as records for future audits.
  • Updates Company Supervisors regularly on the progress of tank maintenance works through reports/presentations etc.
  • Responsible for the overall control of the tank maintenance contractor's works engaged in the tank repair services.
  • Responsible for compliance with the safety requirements to the satisfaction of the Company.


Experience


  • Minimum twelve (12) years of working experience in the oil industry related to construction and maintenance of welded steel crude oil tanks storage tanks. At least five (5) years in maintenance of over 300,000 Bbl. capacity above ground floating roof storage tanks is mandatory.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • API 653 certification will be an added advantage, although not mandatory.
