Sales Executives ( Symphony Style Hotel )

To manage sales activities and events inline with the annual sales and marketing plan and to achieve/exceed

budget and sales strategy for Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait.

Maintains frequent contact with Director of Sales and implements their direction.

Develops and maintains contact with business generators, meeting and convention planners,

visitors/convention bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government

Departments and other producers closely allied to Hotel business.

Builds profile within local market & International place through attendance at various events and local market

place.

Interfaces with operations on a timely basis

. PROFESSIONAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MANAGES THE HOTEL’S ACTIVE AND AGRESSIVE SALES FUNCTION

 Monitors competitors activities and assists in marketing intelligence

 Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy,

negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business

 Services existing business through management on account bases

 Sells all facets of the hotel

 Overviews staff productivity

 Responsible for a smooth and rational work sequence in sales department and cooperation with other

departments in the hotel, in particular reservations, revenue, FO & F&B

 Uses and integrates yield management in daily sales

 Permanent observation of local/international markets and competitors, involvement in drawing up analyses

of competitors and statistics

 Manages key contacts including regular visits of large and prestigious customers

 Pro actively leading the sales team.

 Coordinate tasks for respective employees

 Manages the corporate head office and the preferred hotel history for that company

 Develops and maintains a regular pattern of sales calls and meetings with principals of target market


 Provides direction on and conducts market research and analysis

 Conducts client interviews

 Entertains clients

 Plans and conducts familiarization tours and site inspections

 Travels when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business

 Monitors existing business and inputs into sales strategy meetings to maximize business

 Grows existing business and establishes and pursues leads which will develop business

 Initiates and prepares tenders for business

 Assesses sales and marketing data

 Assists with the preparation of new products and services

 Assists in the evaluation of sales and marketing activities

. LAWS, REGULATIONS AND POLICIES

 Makes sure the sales team follows all applicable laws, and corporate standards and guidelines

 Responsible Business: shows involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by

participating in Responsible Business hotel and departmental activities

. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

 Develops and recommends appropriate training to meet guest and internal needs

 Identifies training needs

 Makes sure staff receives skills training to provide consistent, reliable service

 Encourages, develops and manages effective employee relations throughout the hotel

. EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

 Fosters and develops effective employee relations within department, and throughout the hotel

 Conducts monthly departmental meetings with the sales team, Revenue Director, Rooms Division and GM

 Looks for ways to motivate and challenge employees

. HEALTH AND SAFETY

 Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately

 Fully understands the hotel’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures

 Ensures that emergency procedures are practiced and enforced to provide for the security and safety of

guests and employees

 Ensures that all employees within own department work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self

or others

 Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of health and safety in tasks and activities managed within

the department

 Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and either corrects them or take action to prevent

them from happening

 Ensures that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and

conduct of hotel employees is maintained by all employees in the department


MISCELLANEOUS

 Attends meetings and training required by the Director of Sales & Marketing

 Assists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary

 Ensures guest satisfaction by attending to their requests and inquires courteously and efficiently

 Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests and stakeholders

 Maintains own working area, and materials clean, tidy and in good shape; reports defective materials and

equipment to appropriate person within the hotel

 Continuously seeks to endeavor and improve the department’s efficient operation, and knowledge of own

job function

 Is well updated on, and possesses solid knowledge of the following:

- Hotel fire, bomb and emergency procedures

- Hotel health and safety policies and procedures

- Hotel facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (i.e. hospitals,

stations, tourist sights)

- Hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures

- Current licensing relating to own department and to the hotel

- Accepted methods of payment by the hotel

Qualification


 University Degree, Diploma in Hotel Management or Hotel

School Degree

 Knowledge of various PMS (Fidelio, Opera, Delphi, etc)

Experience  Minimum 4 years experience as Sales Executive or 2 years


experience as a Sales Manager

 Background in 5 star segment

 Hotel Opening experience is an advantage

 Middle East and boutique hotel experience preferred
