Roles & Responsibilities
The Security Coordinator supports the daily security operations of the University, ensuring a safe and secure environment for students, staff, visitors, and property. Under the direction of the Director of Security, this role oversees campus safety procedures, coordinates incident response, and upholds compliance with institutional security policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support day-to-day campus security operations in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain student and campus safety in alignment with the University s code of conduct and security guidelines.
- Implement and update campus security procedures, systems, and emergency response plans.
- Assist with supervision of all entry and exit procedures for students, staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Oversee vehicle and parking safety on campus, ensuring proper access control.
- Prepare and issue reports, security communications, and incident summaries for management review.
- Support recruitment, training, and scheduling of security personnel.
- Coordinate with relevant departments on safety initiatives, emergency drills, and special event security needs.
- Provide support for departmental projects and initiatives to enhance campus security infrastructure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Security.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of security practices; experience in campus or institutional security preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage pressure, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professional discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet operational deadlines.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or emergencies as required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor s degree preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in security, military, law enforcement, or related field.
- Experience preparing reports and using basic computer applications.
