Job Summary
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items while delivering exceptional customer service. The role ensures every customer enjoys a welcoming café experience by maintaining excellent product quality, cleanliness, and operational standards. The Barista represents the NumberC Café brand through professionalism, efficiency, and a passion for coffee and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage & Food Preparation
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other hot and cold drinks according to standard recipes.
- Prepare and serve pastries, desserts, and light food items in accordance with café standards.
- Ensure consistency in beverage presentation, taste, and quality.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and product quality before serving.
Customer Service
- Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately using the POS system.
- Recommend menu items and promote seasonal or featured products.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
Operations
- Operate espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
- Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately.
- Assist with opening and closing café procedures.
- Replenish stock, cups, ingredients, and supplies throughout the shift.
Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, dining area, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained according to company procedures.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly.
Inventory Support
- Assist with inventory counts and stock monitoring.
- Inform the Café Supervisor of low stock levels or product shortages.
- Minimize waste through proper portion control and storage practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Barista or in the hospitality/F&B industry is preferred.
- Barista or coffee preparation certification is an advantage.
- Basic English communication skills; Arabic is an added advantage.
