Job title: Freelance Technical Trainer Location: Anywhere in USAJob type: Freelance
Role Summary
NIIT is hiring a technically strong instructor to deliver a structured, hands on bootcamp on an Agentic AI Framework and its associated compliance and automation tooling. The program is delivered to cohorts that include Forward Deployed Engineers and a broader mix of technical practitioners, business analysts, and consulting professionals. Each cohort progresses through taught sessions, paired and individual labs, a build hackathon, and final group presentations. This is a delivery role that combines hands on technical fluency with strong facilitation. The instructor run sessions, walks every lab in parallel with participants, debugs participant environments live, coaches groups through the hackathon, and judges final presentations. Success in the role depends equally on the ability to teach conceptually at pace and to recover smoothly from the inevitable lab and environment failures that occur in live delivery. This is an active, evolving program. Instructors are expected to contribute observations, fixes, and improvements with every cohort they run.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Content Delivery Live Demonstrations and Lab Facilitation Cohort Management Continuous Improvement
Technical Skills:
The instructor will debug participant environments live in front of the cohort. Fluency, not awareness, is required in the following areas:
Linux: shell navigation, file and permission management, package installation, basic text editing. Bash scripting: variables, conditionals, loops, script execution, and troubleshooting. Python: data types, control flow, functions, modules, JSON handling, REST API calls. Comfortable reading and debugging asynchronous Python. Git: clone, branch, commit, push, pull requests, and merge conflict resolution. REST APIs: HTTP verbs, JSON request and response structure, token and API key authentication patterns. Containerization: running containers, reading compose files, port mapping, inspecting logs, and basic container networking. LLM APIs: able to explain what an LLM API call is, why context windows matter, and how tool calling works at the API level. ML training depth is not required. API and integration depth is. AI & Agentic AI Concepts: Understands what LLMs are, how agents reason and act, what tool calling means architecturally. Can explain agent loops and task decomposition without referencing specific frameworks.
Delivery and Facilitation
Demonstrated experience facilitating technical training, workshops, or enablement programs for professional audiences. Able to explain complex ideas clearly, adjust language for different knowledge levels, and handle challenging questions composedly. Able to deliver technical content to mixed seniority engineering audiences with clarity and confidence. Able to diagnose and recover from lab environment failures live without losing cohort momentum. (this is a critical skill) Comfortable managing a full day technical session including Q and A, group pacing, and ad hoc debugging. Proficient with virtual delivery platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or equivalent.
Preferred Background
Prior experience designing or delivering instructor led technical bootcamps or workshops for engineering cohorts. Background in software development, solutions architecture, or technical consulting, even if not current or primary. Experience operating or integrating with document intelligence or document parsing services, for example Azure Document Intelligence or equivalent. Experience with observability tooling including structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing in microservice environments. Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies or Dev Ops practices as context for the audience. Instructional design or curriculum development experience.
