Position Overview We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Senior Engineer – Mechanical to lead the design, development, and integration of advanced mechanical systems. This role is pivotal in shaping the architecture and performance of cutting-edge aeromechanical structures, actuation systems, and thermal-mechanical solutions for aerospace, defense, and autonomous platforms.
Core Responsibilities Establish in-house mechanical design capabilities and lead the full lifecycle of mechanical design from concept to disposal. Lead simulation analyses including static, dynamic, vibration, and thermal simulations. Oversee the development of motion and actuation systems, aeromechanical structures, and fine mechanical components. Perform and manage precise engineering calculations and simulations to improve design performance. Establish engineering processes, workflows, and test specifications for mechanical systems. Evaluate mechanical equipment performance and ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, electronics) to ensure seamless system integration. Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Drive innovation through research in materials, actuation technologies, and mechanical modeling. Identify and implement best practices in mechanical system design and process improvement.
Supporting Responsibilities Lead project scheduling, departmental planning, and performance assessments. Manage staff administration including leave and timekeeping. Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications and validation protocols. Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Establish partnerships with external research institutions and industry leaders. Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Additional Qualifications: CAD and CAE certifications are advantageous. Experience: 20+ years in mechanical systems design and integration, with a focus on aerospace or military applications. Track Record: Proven leadership in delivering complex mechanical solutions in defense, aerospace, or robotics sectors.
Key Skills Mechanical Modeling: Proficiency in CAD tools (CREO, Solid Works) and CAE tools (ANSYS). Simulation and Testing: Expertise in evaluating high-fidelity simulations and validating mechanical models. Structural and Thermal Design: In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics, thermodynamics, and vibration analysis. Actuation Systems: Advanced experience in motion systems, actuators, and fine mechanical components. Cross-Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems for holistic integration. Technical Communication: Excellent English communication skills and proficiency in technical documentation and design reviews.
