Job Role:

Serves as a capable professional in an architectural design team, leading work on specific elements of a project with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Architect or Senior team member.

Job Responsibilities:

• Independently check the completeness & accuracy of own work prior to review by the Senior Architect or senior team member
• Prepare BIM models and drawings and co-ordinates using software
• Adopt creative and innovative solutions to assigned tasks and develops appropriate research and documentation to support these solutions
• Proactively check and coordinate project documents (including but not limited to multi-disciplinary drawings, design reports, technical specifications, etc.) and ensure they meet Client requirements industry standards and project BIM Execution Plans
• Ensure accuracy and quality of discipline BIM model information and presentation.
• Take accountability for own and teams output
• Prepare various schedules including wall, partition, door, ceiling, louvres and finishes as examples and carries out QA
• Collaborate with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common design & BIM model development tasks
• Regularly review and check own deliverables for accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness ensuring delivery is as per Client requirements and Industry standards
• Work with the team to communicate, solve, and update design and BIM models for coordination and design issues.
• Communicate with clarity, purpose and accuracy
• Determine solutions, methods and procedures on assignments to deliver products & services
• Mentor Intern, graduate, and junior team members
• Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, working drawings, develops details and specifications
• Produce drawings either in Revit and co-ordinates using coordination software
• Participate in pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high quality consistent set of presentation or design documents as per Client requirements and Industry standards
• Participate in team meetings and attend Client meetings where required
• Prepare material schedules and sample boards
• Proactively liaises with Statutory Authorities and develop knowledge of local & international codes, regulations and submission requirements
• Participate in developing responses to 3rd party review comments, tender queries, contractor’s queries, etc.
• Delegate effectively and efficiently where appropriate and follows up on delegated tasks up to its completion
• Apply and reinforce standard designs and software across the business.
• Rigorously challenge the teams to drive efficiency.
• Keep abreast of the latest software and techniques to increase productivity.
• Planning and monitoring others work to achieve set deadlines
• Understand principles of and able to work within project budgets which includes fees and designing to construction budget
• Facilitate the compliance of all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the areas of activity to help guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and delivery of high quality products/service and a reliable environmental attitude

Professional Skills and Experience:

• Proven related professional experience in an Architectural practice
• Developed architectural design skills and understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, Navisworks, presentation software and working on projects in a BIM environment
• Knowledge of Industry BIM standards, processes and general approaches
• Knowledge to set-up the configuration and administration of projects for respective discipline in Revit and AutoCAD
• Good Architectural design skills complimented by good hand sketching skills. Able to sketch something quickly in order to show ideas and concepts
• Good understanding of space planning and functional adjacencies
• Developed skills in the use a variety of software / media in the development, presentation and documentation of a design
• Capable of researching materials and learning about their properties & potential applications as well as installation / construction sequence requirements so they can be integrated into the design and information can be noted in depth on the drawings and specifications
• Capable of developing comprehensive wall, partition, door, louvre & finishes schedules etc. that include enough information for costing, procurement and quality installation
• Capable of developing a set of quality specifications
• Developed understanding of Safety in Design requirements and able to integrate the principals into the design and design team
• Developed presentation skills (drawn, written & verbal)
• Proficiency in Rhinoceros and/or other 3D design tools
• Review shop drawings and samples to ensure drawings and materials match Pace design & specifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 to 8 years experience in the same field
• International Accreditations (RIBA, AIA or equivalent), Desired
• Kuwait Society of Engineers, or local engineering society
