Osition Overview
The role involves extensive experience in environmental issues related to the design, construction, and operation of landfill installations, including the management of permits for various facilities such as plants, utilities, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment facilities, petrochemical operations, oilfield production, and hazardous waste disposals. The candidate will be responsible for supporting and preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), conceptual site modeling, and ensuring environmental control and compliance throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management & Coordination: Lead and manage remediation programs, including the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and coordinating junior staff.
- Execution of Remediation Programs: Oversee the successful implementation of remediation projects, including remedial design, execution, excavation supervision, and confirmatory sampling.
- Technical Documentation & Client Communication: Prepare and present technical documentation, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications. This includes preparing cost estimates and budgets.
- Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients through both verbal and written correspondence, which may include formal presentations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Interpret environmental regulations and investigation results to meet client requirements. Communicate effectively with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Supervise, train, and mentor junior employees, providing guidance on technical and project management aspects.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to the quality assurance system relevant to the Contaminated Sites Group.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Familiarize with safety manuals and strictly comply with all Health & Safety policies. Maintain personal safety and promote safe working practices within the team, following occupational health and safety procedures.
Qualifications - Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Experience:
- Proven experience in managing remediation technologies for oil-contaminated soil.
- Expertise in developing strategies for environmental remediation programs.
- Strong familiarity with engineering and organizational controls necessary for preventing environmental damage.
- Experience with environmental issues in the design, construction, and operation of landfill installations, including the handling of permits for plants, utilities, water treatment, petrochemical operations, wastewater treatment, oilfield production, and hazardous waste disposals.
- Competence in preparing Environmental Impact Assessments, conceptual site models, and ensuring environmental compliance throughout project stages.
- Thorough knowledge of standards and methodologies for sampling and environmental characterization.
