Job Summary


  • To assist in designing and implementing the risk management information system framework throughout Gulf Insurance & Reinsurance Co (GIRI).
  • To support in undertaking a key functional and advisory role contributing to the achievement of the company’s objectives and the credit rating processes.
  • To uphold the company’s ethics, operating policies and conform with the department work instructions.




Main Duties and Activities


  1. Develops, maintains, and enhances risk data models and reporting tools.
  2. Assists in preparation of Risk Management reports and reviews.
  3. Manages and controls risk reporting.
  4. Assists in the preparation of regulator and external stakeholder reporting relating to risk management.
  5. Assists with the implementation of relevant IT and other systems to support the reporting and escalation of risk control effectiveness.
  6. Assists in calculating, analyzing and monitoring the Risk Appetite Dashboard as well as Asset Liability Management (ALM) for the company.
  7. Assists in the Rating Projects for the company by gathering & providing the required information, corresponding with the rating agencies, preparing all the related analyses on the company’s performance, calculating the capital adequacy, reviewing the related risks and combining all the information in a comprehensive presentation.
  8. Assist the line manager as and when needed
  9. Participate effectively in the Risk activities and projects
  10. Keeps abreast of key developments in the risk management.



Qualifications and Experience Required


  • Kuwaiti Nationals Preferably
  • Fresh Graduates and up to 2 years’ experience in financial services / Insurance Industry with adequate focus on business management & reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree with a relevant major in business, accounting, finance, information technology, statistics, or math.
  • Good understanding of risk management practices, data requirements, databases & reporting tools.
  • Familiarity or experience with Solvency II or Basel III regulations is a plus.
  • Experience
  • Good business management and reporting skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good IT skills and particularly able with Research, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation & data.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others to get a job done with flexible approach.
