Job Summary:
The Grill Helper assists the grill cook or chef in preparing and cooking food items, specifically grilled dishes. Responsibilities include setting up the grill station, ensuring ingredients are prepped, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the grill cook in preparing and grilling meats, vegetables, and other menu items.
- Preheat and maintain grill temperatures according to food safety standards.
- Ensure ingredients are properly cleaned, cut, and marinated before cooking.
- Set up and stock grill station with necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Monitor food quality, ensuring all items are prepared according to restaurant standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the grill area and equipment throughout the shift.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Assist with cleaning, dishwashing, and storing kitchen tools as needed.
- Cooperate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
Skills
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of grilling techniques and kitchen safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
