Ecolab is seeking a Lead Field Service Representative where your technical expertise and customer-first mindset will help shape a more sustainable future. You’ll be part of a purpose-driven team that supports water treatment systems across diverse industries. You’ll work hands-on in the field, building trusted relationships with customers and delivering solutions that protect vital resources and improve operational performance.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
Solve a wide range of complex, multi-disciplinary problems
Assume lead role in maintaining troubleshooting guides/bulletins and distribution to departments when required
Prepare reports detailing problems and solutions to initiate necessary corrective product modification and/or recommend process changes
Conduct site surveys, product/application audits
Inventory management of chemical delivery systems
Collect samples for monitoring chemical program
Deliver chemicals to customer as needed
Conduct field evaluations of new products
Lead appropriate pre-trial surveys for site visits
Interact with appropriate internal and external customers and resources
Maintain accurate records based on information gathered during trials and surveys
Create troubleshooting service guides and bulletins on existing products
Coordinate and manage sampling and inventory schedules
Coordinate implementing solutions with customers
Assist sales in preparing business proposals
Participate in design reviews, new applications and start-ups evaluations
Assist in critiquing products serviceability, performance and reliability
Provide customers with expert technical service in all major applications
Serve as a Mentor for all levels of Service Reps
Support and be committed to the teams Quality Improvement Process
Promptly report every incident, accident, injury or applicable near miss to next level management
Provide on-site field service (on the phone or on-site)

Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Experience in a technical service role, ideally with water filtration systems or in industrial/mechanical environments
Ability to travel within a geographic territory
Ability to travel overnight for business

Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or Trade School Certification
4 years of successful technical sales or field sales support experience
Must have knowledge of and experience in materials, scheduling and inventory processes
Experience in oil and gas industry preferred
Previous Refinery/Petrochemical experience
Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems
High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems)
History of working in a field that required autonomy and self-motivation
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
A strong work ethic and ability to multitask
