We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Engineer - Specialist to support the
Drone Inspection Program. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical
skills, attention to detail, and a passion for learning and innovation - traits essential for
our fast-evolving program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the
intersection of traditional infrastructure inspection and cutting-edge drone technology.
This role combines drone operation support, ground-level inspections of powerline
infrastructure, and technical and analytical tasks. You will participate in field
inspections, operate advanced sensors, and prepare structured inspection reports. In
parallel, you will support the continuous improvement of IMCO's inspection protocols,
contribute to the refinement of internal inspection software and reporting tools,
and assist in the interpretation and application of international standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to grow their skills in inspection data
collection and analysis and will have the opportunity to pursue several career tracks
based on their competency and interest. This includes advanced areas such as UAV
sensor operations, UAV piloting, remote sensing, GIS, and contributions to cross-
disciplinary innovation projects involving grid technology, IoT, and AI. This is a high-

Key Responsibilities
Participate in UAV-enabled inspections of electrical transmission and substation
assets using advanced sensors and cameras.
Serve as a Visual Observer (VO) for drone operations, maintaining visual line of
sight with the drone and communicating with the pilot to ensure safe flights
Assist with sensor calibration, payload configuration, and real-time data collection
in the field.
Utilize computer software solutions to perform inspection data analysis and
produce structured technical reports aligned with QA/QC procedures.
Support the continuous improvement of inspection protocols and workflows
based on internal findings, international best practices and international
standards.
Collaborate with internal teams on the development and refinement of custom
software tools for inspection management and reporting.
Contribute to the development of internal inspection workflows and preventative
maintenance protocols.
Support mission planning and post-mission workflows, including flight logging,
asset documentation, and the structured organization of inspection data and
imagery.
Assist in GIS-based data visualization, asset mapping, and the organization of
digital inspection archives.
Adhere to all safety protocols and operational standards in outdoor, high-voltage,
or restricted environments.
Skills
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering
discipline such as Telecommunications or Mechanical Engineering (with a
demonstrated knowledge of power systems and electrical infrastructure
principles.)
1-2 years of experience for junior-level candidates, or 3-5 years of experience for
mid-level applicants, in field engineering, O&M, inspection, or infrastructure-
related roles in the Transmission & Distribution section.
Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Earth
Pro, data file organization, and ability to quickly learn new digital tools.
Clear and concise written and oral communication skills in English, with the
ability to write technical reports and interpret engineering standards and technical
documentation.
High awareness of safety procedures and ability to operate within regulated or
high-voltage areas.

Willing and able to perform fieldwork in remote or outdoor environments,
including during hot or varied weather conditions.
Physically fit with ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and
terrains and carry up to 15 kg drone equipment when needed during inspections.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Strong preference for those with experience specifically in inspection,
maintenance, reliability or condition based monitoring of High Voltage
Transmission Lines.
Strong preference for those with experience or certification in Infrared
Thermography or UV/Corona Inspection.
Familiarity with the following sensors by drone or ground: visual, IR, UV
Prior exposure or experience in Drone Systems or Operations.
Exposure to GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and/or CAD tools (e.g.,
AutoCAD, MicroStation).
Experience preparing technical reports or contributing to QA/QC deliverables in
an engineering or inspection setting.
Working knowledge of international inspection standards and preventative
maintenance principles.
Demonstrated hand-eye coordination, ideally through prior experience with
remote control systems, simulation environments, or gaming platforms.
Arabic language proficiency, spoken and written.
Prior safety training or certifications related to fieldwork or inspection.
Existing residency or citizenship in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia.
