We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the construction and building industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, cost management, and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Your expertise will be vital in managing project costs, preparing estimates, and providing valuable insights to the project management team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare accurate estimates for various construction projects, ensuring all elements are accounted for.
  2. Prepare and maintain project budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop project specifications and ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
  4. Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best terms and pricing.
  5. Manage and assess variations to contracts, ensuring that all changes are documented and approved.
  6. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  7. Provide advice on procurement strategies and assist in selecting the right materials and services for projects.
  8. Prepare tender documentation and assist in the tendering process, including evaluating bids and making recommendations.
  9. Assist in the final account process, ensuring all costs are accurately captured and reconciled.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance the company's competitive edge.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  2. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, enabling precise cost estimation and budget management.
  3. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers effectively.
  4. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools, along with a solid understanding of construction contracts and law.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  6. A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, with relevant certifications being an advantage.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  9. Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for the construction industry.
  10. Fluency in English, with proficiency in Arabic being a plus.
