Job Summary:
The Paralegal Assistant supports company's Corporate Legal & Compliance teams by preparing legal documents, managing corporate records, coordinating with regulatory bodies in Kuwait, and assisting with day-to-day legal and administrative tasks. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with Kuwait’s corporate and commercial laws, particularly as they apply to a regulated Sharia-compliant fintech.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate & Legal Support:
- Prepare, review, and format legal documents including board resolutions, POAs, MOA/AOA amendments, contracts, and compliance filings.
- Maintain updated corporate governance records: commercial registrations, licenses, shareholder structures, UBO filings, board information.
- Draft correspondence, meeting minutes, and basic legal summaries under Legal Manager's supervision.
- Assist with documentation related to incorporations, renewals, restructurings, liquidations, and capital or ownership changes.
- Ensure documents and processes align with Sharia-compliant business practices.
Regulatory & Government Relations:
- Coordinate filings and submissions with authorities such as MOCI, CMA, PAM, Ministry of Justice, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce, and Kuwait Municipality.
- Handle notarization, attestation, translation, renewals, and statutory requirements (via Sahel, MOCI, CMA portals).
- Track regulatory changes affecting corporate activities, fintech compliance, or CMA obligations.
- Support documentation for regulatory audits, inspections, or new product approvals under CMA/CBK frameworks.
- Fintech Compliance & Governance Support
- Maintain documentation supporting data privacy, AML/CFT compliance, outsourcing registers, vendor governance, and internal policies.
- Assist with compliance reporting packs, due diligence documentation, and policy updates.
- Support processes ensuring adherence to ethical and Sharia-compliant investment requirements.
Administrative & Document Management:
- Manage the company’s document management system (physical and digital).
- Maintain contract lifecycle tracking, renewal calendars, and compliance deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external counsel, regulatory bodies, partners, and auditors on document follow-ups.
- Conduct research on corporate, commercial, fintech, and labor topics.
Skills
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field (paralegal certification preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in a corporate legal or compliance environment, preferably in Kuwait.
- Knowledge of Kuwait corporate, commercial, and labor law; familiarity with CMA regulations is a strong advantage.
- Experience with Kuwait government portals including MOCI, Sahel, and PAM.
- Strong drafting, research, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication in English and native Arabic.
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within a regulated or financial services, banking, insurance, or investment environment.
