The Deputy Resident Engineer for MEP Maintenance plays a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in a reputable contracting and maintenance in Kuwait. This position demands a highly skilled professional who can ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of all MEP systems, while also contributing to the development and training of junior engineers. The Deputy Resident Engineer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and facility managers, to ensure that all systems are compliant with local codes and regulations, as well as industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent leadership skills to guide the maintenance team effectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  2. Coordinate with project teams to plan and execute maintenance schedules, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of MEP systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  4. Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
  5. Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  6. Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to procure necessary materials and services for MEP maintenance.
  7. Prepare detailed reports and documentation regarding maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance.

  9. Assist in budget preparation and cost management for MEP maintenance projects.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven 5 years' experience in MEP maintenance, preferably in a training or educational facility.
  2. Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to MEP systems.
  3. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  4. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to address complex technical issues.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Proficient in using MEP design and maintenance software tools.
  8. Strong commitment to safety and quality assurance in all maintenance activities.
  9. Relevant certifications in MEP systems or project management would be an advantage.
  10. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methods in the MEP field.
