We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team. In this role, the Credit Controller is responsible for managing a company's credit and collections processes, ensuring that payments are made on time, and minimizing the risk of bad debt, while working closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Management:
- Assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing clients.
- Setting and monitoring credit limits.
- Regularly reviewing credit risk and making recommendations to management.
- Collections & Payment Management:
- Managing the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely payments.
- Contacting clients to follow up on overdue payments.
- Sending reminders and overdue notices to clients as necessary.
- Negotiating repayment terms when required.
- Maintaining an accurate record of communications and agreements with clients.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Reconciliation of client accounts to ensure payments are correctly applied.
- Investigating and resolving any payment discrepancies or disputes.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Preparing and sending regular reports to management regarding aged debt and overdue accounts.
- Maintaining accurate records of credit and collection activities.
- Keeping up-to-date documentation for internal and audit purposes.
- Risk Management:
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements in all credit-related activities.
- Proactively identifying potential risks related to credit and advising management on strategies to mitigate them.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Building strong relationships with clients to facilitate smoother collection processes.
- Addressing client inquiries regarding their accounts in a professional manner.
- Collaboration:
- Working closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Finance) to ensure smooth credit approval and payment processes.
- Supporting the wider finance team during month-end and year-end closing processes.
Preferred Candidate:
- Experience dealing with accounts receivable and customer aging reports.
- Experience with cooperatives and hypermarkets is preferred.
- Should be an Arabic national, and not older than 35 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance, costing, and inventory management.
