On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Sales Manager with experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry who will oversee the sales, distribution, and marketing of fast-moving consumer goods. This role requires ensuring product availability, optimizing sales strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with retailers and distributors. Responsible for managing and expanding business relationships within the hospitality sector, including hotels, restaurants, and catering services. The role focuses on sales, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Developing a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company objectives, increase market share, and drive revenue growth. This includes setting sales targets, defining market segments, and identifying expansion opportunities.
- Building, leading, and motivating a high-performing sales team. This involves recruiting and training sales representatives, setting clear performance expectations, and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Creating sales plans and accurately forecasting sales volumes. This helps in aligning production and distribution with expected demand and ensures the availability of products in the market.
- Managing the distribution network and ensuring products are effectively reaching retailers and consumers. This may involve coordinating with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers to optimize product availability.
- Conducting market research to stay informed about consumer trends, competitor activities, and changing market dynamics. This information is used to make informed decisions about pricing, promotions, and product positioning.
- Preparing and managing the sales department budget. Sales Managers need to allocate resources efficiently to maximize returns while keeping costs under control.
- Monitoring sales performance and analyzing sales data to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth. They should be able to analyze sales reports, assess performance against targets, and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Implementing and maintaining CRM systems to manage customer interactions, sales pipelines, and customer feedback. Building strong relationships with key clients and ensuring their satisfaction is crucial for long-term success.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within the HORECA sector. Oversee service delivery to ensure quality and efficiency in catering to HORECA clients.
- Providing ongoing training and development programs to the sales team to enhance their selling skills, product knowledge, and customer service.
- Coordinating and overseeing promotional activities, including advertising campaigns, sales promotions, and merchandising initiatives.
- Negotiating contracts and agreements with key accounts (New Agencies & New Products) and managing relationships with important customers to ensure their loyalty and repeat business.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Sales Managers are also responsible for preparing regular sales reports and presenting them to senior management.
- Collaborating with marketing and product teams to plan and execute successful product launches in the market.
- Using historical data, market trends, and other relevant information to predict future sales volumes accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years experience in managing a division/company.
- Should possess strong computer literacy.
