We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic Category Specialist to manage and grow our gadgets, mobile phones, and accessories product portfolio. As a Category Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing trends, managing product assortment, optimizing pricing, driving sales, and building strong relationships with vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Management & Strategy:
Develop and implement category strategies for gadgets, mobile phones, and accessories.
Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Forecast category growth and demand, and plan inventory needs accordingly.
- Vendor & Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to secure the best product offerings, pricing, and terms.
Negotiate pricing, promotional activities with key suppliers to maximize profitability.
Manage supplier performance by reviewing key metrics such as sales, stock levels, and product quality.
- Product Assortment & Pricing:
Curate and manage a diverse product range of mobile phones, gadgets, and accessories that appeal to target customer segments.
Ensure competitive and strategic pricing for all products while maintaining profitability.
Regularly review and refresh product offerings based on sales performance, customer feedback, and market dynamics.
- Sales & Performance Analysis:
Analyze sales data, identify trends, and report on category performance.
Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product categories (e.g., sales growth, margin, market share).
Propose action plans based on performance analysis to drive sales and achieve targets.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the in-house teams to ensure on-time product delivery, stock levels, and replenishment.
Collaborate with the e-commerce teams to optimize online and offline presence for gadgets, mobile phones, and accessories.
Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to align goals, new product launches, and marketing initiatives.
Skills
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of work experience in Category Management or Product Management ideally within electronics, mobile phones, or gadgets in Kuwait market.
- Deep understanding of the mobile phone and gadget market, including the latest technologies, trends, and consumer preferences.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess category performance, sales data, and market insights. Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools.
- Experience in vendor negotiations and managing supplier relationships.
- Candidate should be present in Kuwait.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with the latest gadgets, mobile devices, and accessories, as well as e-commerce platforms and retail technologies.
