Provides operations and maintenance (O&M) support as required for the satellite sites. Supports day-to-day operations to include circuit troubleshooting, outage reporting, publications, and record keeping. Coordinates with outside agencies in the engineering and troubleshooting of satellite trunks. Conducts systems engineering provisioning for all communications circuits and directs operations. Coordinates with the local RNOSC for upgrades, modifications, activations, and deactivations of all satellite trunks, circuitry, equipment, software and hardware. Drafts revisions to the station Standard Operating Procedures to comply with RNOSC requirements. Program: OMDAC-SWACA

This position offers company-paid housing and transportation, a completion bonus and tuition reimbursement program!

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country in order to be qualified for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Completes training required for site Satellite communications technicians.
  • Follows work-center operating procedures.
  • Performs security, SATCOM operations, and maintenance (routine and outages).
  • Assists with TMDE calibrations with the TMDE coordinator ensuring there is ample test equipment available to perform day-to-day operations.
  • Completes the facility maintenance according to appropriate rules and regulations.
  • Follows proper key control for facilities and equipment as required.
  • Responsible for all COMSEC duties as custodians and coordinates with the COMSEC custodians as necessary.
  • Monitors site power and supervises PMCS accordingly.
  • Maintains configuration management documentation.
  • Responsible for overall safety and cleanliness of the work site.
  • Applicant must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24 hours per day/7 days per week coverage.
  • Working environment will be 90% indoors and 10% outdoors.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:
  • Education / Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High school diploma required.
    • Some college preferable.
    • Microwave or SATCOM maintenance courses preferred.
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (Training provided by contract)
  • Experience:
    • Requires a minimum of 7 years’ operating experience in a Satellite communications.
    • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
    • Applicant must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24 hours per day/7 days per week coverage.
