Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Application Support Specialist to join our healthcare IT team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation and support of our EMR systems. You will work closely with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and IT professionals to troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and enhance user experience. The ley responsibilities are:


User Support: Provide front-line support to users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to the EMR application. Assist with troubleshooting and ensure timely resolution of technical problems.

System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the EMR system, performing regular updates, backups, and system checks to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.

Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on EMR functionalities. Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and documentation for processes and workflows.

Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to understand their needs and gather feedback for system enhancements. Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.

Data Management: Assist with data entry, validation, and reporting within the EMR system. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy standards.

Issue Tracking: Maintain records of support requests and system issues. Use issue-tracking software to monitor and report on problem resolution trends.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to EMR systems. Participate in projects aimed at optimizing workflows and improving user experience.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience supporting EMR applications, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and medical terminology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • 1 - 2 Years of experience in the related field
