Job description:
The Legal Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s legal activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, managing contract negotiations, and providing strategic legal counsel to senior management. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in corporate law, contract management, and legal compliance within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Contract Review & Management:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate policies.
- Ensure that all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements and are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that contract terms meet business needs and mitigate risks.
- Maintain a database of all active contracts, tracking important deadlines, renewal dates, and key terms.

Legal & Compliance:
- Ensure the company’s legal compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
- Advise management on corporate governance matters, including statutory requirements and best practices.
- Develop and implement internal policies to minimize legal risks, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular legal audits to identify potential risks and compliance gaps.

Dispute Resolution & Risk Management:
- Manage and resolve legal disputes, including coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Provide legal guidance on risk management strategies and work closely with various teams to minimize legal risks in all operations.
- Lead negotiations and settlements of disputes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Negotiations:
- Lead and participate in contract negotiations, ensuring the company’s interests are protected.
- Act as the primary legal advisor during negotiations on key business transactions, acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures.

Corporate Legal Matters:
- Oversee corporate governance, ensuring compliance with local laws and corporate regulations.
- Support company secretarial duties, including organizing board meetings, drafting minutes, and managing company records.
- Provide legal guidance on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic corporate initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a key legal advisor to senior management on business issues that require legal interpretation or clarification.
- Liaise with external law firms, regulators, and relevant authorities as needed.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, operations, and risk management, to provide seamless legal support.
Requirements:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is required; Master’s degree or specialization in Corporate Law or Compliance is preferred.

Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a legal role within a corporate setting, with significant experience in contract management and negotiations.
- Proven experience in corporate governance, legal compliance, and risk management.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry is a plus.
