Job Purpose:
Assist and support the Central H&S Lead and the Senior Manager QA and OH&S on the establishment, implementation and monitoring of Americana Health and Safety Policy and its programs to its markets of responsibilities (Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct the risk assessment on activities and facilities owned and operated by Americana.
- Train the necessary SOPs, rules and regulations designed by Americana.
- Conduct the OH&S audits and CAPA in facilities owned and operated by Americana.
- Conduct fire safety, first aid and other OH&S related trainings.
- Ensure accident/incident and near-miss reporting procedures are complied with and assist with investigations.
- Ensure the right set-up for fire safety system, including resources and right links with designated authority.
- Train the emergency response plan for major incidents and provide investigation and reporting.
- Ensure that all contractors/aggregators are competent to carry out tasks with necessary licenses/ certificates.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, or Engineering from recognized Institute
- NEBOSH and IOSH Certification
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Safety Engineer/ Officer
- Experience and understanding of technical Occupational Health and Safety
Job Specific Skills:
- Full conversant with Local and International Health and Safety standards, codes and industry practices
- Good understanding of ISO 45001:2018
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Successfully manage relationships across multiple stakeholders
