Overview
This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP
Under the supervision of the Emergency Dispatcher Lead, the Emergency Dispatcher, functions primarily as a call-taker telecommunicator and is responsible for receiving, recording, and effectively managing requests for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services responses and provides medical pre-arrival instructions. Dispatches emergency personnel to situations requiring critical response. May contact emergency personnel to verify assignment locations.

- Functions primarily as a call-taker telecommunicator and is responsible for receiving, recording, and effectively managing requests for Fire and Emergency Services responses.
- Dispatches emergency personnel to situations requiring critical response.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an active Secret Clearance
- International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Proboard Hazmat Materials Awareness (Optional)
- International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Proboard Telecommunicator I- II
- American Heart Association CPR
- Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD)Certification, willing to obtain 30 days from hire date
- Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Police, Fire, EMS Dispatcher
- Skills:
- Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
- Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
- Working Conditions:
- The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
