Instructor of Economic Diversification and Innovation – Adjunct

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Adjunct Professor of Economic Diversification and Innovation to join our Executive Education program. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in economic development, innovation strategies, and policy-making, with a particular focus on driving economic diversification. This role is critical in equipping senior executives and professionals with the insights and tools necessary to foster innovation and guide economic transformation in their respective regions and industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and continually refine course materials that cover the principles of economic diversification, innovation strategies, and the formulation of effective economic policies. The curriculum should address both theoretical foundations and practical applications, ensuring it is comprehensive, relevant, and aligned with current global trends.
  • Course Delivery: Lead engaging and interactive sessions that challenge senior executives and professionals to think critically about economic diversification and innovation. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including case studies, policy analysis, scenario planning, and group discussions, to facilitate deep understanding and practical application of course concepts.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance to participants on how to implement and lead innovation-driven economic strategies within their organizations and regions. Encourage the development of actionable plans that participants can take back to their workplaces to drive economic growth and diversification.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate student performance, including assignments, projects, and presentations. Offer constructive feedback that helps participants refine their strategies and approaches to economic diversification and innovation.
  • Global Perspective: Stay informed of the latest global trends, research, and developments in economic diversification and innovation. Continuously integrate this knowledge into the curriculum to keep the course forward-looking and relevant to a global audience. Engage with industry experts, policymakers, and thought leaders to bring contemporary insights into the classroom.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Education team to ensure that the course content aligns with the broader objectives of the program and meets the evolving needs of industry professionals. Participate in curriculum reviews, program development, and other collaborative initiatives to enhance the quality and impact of the Executive Education offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Innovation, or a related field is required. Candidates with additional certifications or advanced studies in economic development, innovation management, or related disciplines are highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: Extensive experience in economic development, innovation management, policy-making, or related areas, with a proven track record of driving successful economic diversification initiatives. Experience in consulting, advising government entities, or working with international organizations on economic strategies is highly desirable.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience at the university level, particularly in executive education or professional development programs, is highly desirable. Experience in creating and delivering online or hybrid courses is an advantage.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex economic concepts and present them in a clear, accessible manner to a diverse audience. Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire senior professionals.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest advancements in economic diversification and innovation. Active participation in professional organizations, industry conferences, or academic networks is encouraged.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.
