Strategic Buyer

The Strategic Buyer is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with the company's business goals. This role focuses on supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost management to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The Strategic Buyer will work closely with various departments to understand their needs, forecast demand, and manage supplier relationships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives, focusing on cost savings, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet the company’s requirements. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Cost Management: Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor and report on procurement costs.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions or supplier performance issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.


Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with a focus on strategic sourcing.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, and market analysis.
