ROLE OBJECTIVE
To lead acquisition and startup unit in the Direct Investment Department and to establish a framework for
initiating and structuring quality acquisition and investment deals on a regular and consistent basis.
2. DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop periodic business plans for acquisitions and startups and assist in its implementation.
• Assist in internal and external due diligence on investment opportunities
• Conduct research and identify business opportunities in targeted industries/areas
• Assist with feasibility studies using financial models.
• Establish and implement frameworks for research, business development, due diligence,
transaction advisory and financial modeling etc. to provide seamless and comprehensive services
to clients.
• Assist and/or work closely with clients, as required, on various engagements and investment
advisory services.
• Develop GIH’s investment/ equity growth plans through identification of income generating
opportunities in defined market segments and potential client groups.
• Identify lucrative opportunities to exit GIH investment in defined market segments and target
corporates / groups.
• Develop relationships with leading consulting service providers in areas such as legal, taxation,
transaction support, human resources etc. to provide comprehensive and a complete range of
solutions and services.
• Develop processes, as well as methodologies and approaches to build an effective monitoring
process that is aligned to the strategic investment objectives of GIH.
• Research new investment opportunities and present findings to senior management for review and
approval, as appropriate.
• Ensure achievement of department’s financial and non-financial targets by regularly monitoring
progress against targets and initiating appropriate course corrections.
• Manage transaction scope, project plans, and schedule of activities, as appropriate.
• Manage assigned tasks (research, financial analysis) and obtain clarifications where required and
adhere to laid down practices and policies.
• Take responsibility for deal structuring, documentation assignments including, drafting information
memoranda, presentations and reports, as appropriate.
• Build and maintain transaction database of deals and investments made, as appropriate.
• Manage key analytical assignments including, financial analysis and valuations and ensure timely
completion and delivery.
• Track and provide inputs on the performance on GIH portfolio companies and recommend actions
for increasing, maintaining or reducing investment and exposure, after analysis.
• Develop and recommend deal divestment process and exit trigger and support & execute the exit
strategy of the investment deals to ensure smooth exit.
• Participate in deal negotiations, as appropriate.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT (when applicable)
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times and take recruitment actions, as
necessary.
• Define job roles, allocate work to subordinates, and approve staff training needs, bonuses/Incentives to ensure the efficiency of the group.
• Monitor performance of direct reports and guide them in managing their performance by
providing appropriate feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
♦ Master’s degree in Financial Management (MBA, finance) or a professional qualification, preferably
CFA.
EXPERIENCE:
♦ At least 6 years of experience in financial services / investment sector of which a minimum of 2 years
should be in a similar position / responsibility in the GCC region.
♦ Knowledge of Sharia compliant investments is preferable.
