Consultant of General Surgery

  • Surgical management of General Surgery s conditions in the outpatient department and inpatient service.

  • Examine patients and make diagnoses to determine the need for surgery.

  • Review patient medical history and plan the most appropriate procedure or treatment.

  • Evaluate and advise patients on the risk involved with having surgery.

  • Compliance with the Informed consents forms

  • Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities, and patient function while adhering to regulatory and ethical protocols.

  • Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatment and procedures.

  • Ensure sterility in the operating room, and all equipment and instruments.

  • Oversee all treatment before and after surgery, identify potential risks or complications, and manage them accordingly.

  • Follows medical practice policies and procedures, including attending all mandatory meetings, minimizing incident reports, using resources efficiently, and practicing medicine in a cost-effective manner.

  • Completes all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and to comply with electronic medical record requirements.

  • Coordinates follow-up visits with patients and monitor health condition after surgery or treatment.

  • Provide effective communication between all members of the multidisciplinary team caregivers.

  • Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and abilities at the General Surgery Consultant level.

  • Ensures a safe environment for staff and patients.

  • Provides on-call service and ensures availability and response time within the prescribed timeframe in accordance with hospital policy
