description

you will be responsible for: 


  • Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness or disease;
  • Responsible for initial assessment, requesting an investigation, analyzing the rest results, diagnosis, treatment and re-assessment on follow-up;
  • Explain procedures and discuss diagnostic results or prescribed treatments with tile patients and attendants;
  • Responsible for monitoring the patient's condition and progress and re-evaluate / re-assessment and treating the patient accordingly;
  • Will refer patient to other specialists when necessary, also consult with, or provide consulting services to, other physicians whenever requested;
  • Authenticate and sign the medical record/ progress notes with date, time and employee ID number, and stamp every time. Will also review and countersign all junior medical staff notes related to patients;
  • Perform diagnostic or therapeutic procedures specifically according to the qualification, licenses, training & experience;
  • Responsible for approving the Discharge Summary, follow-up, and Medical Report of the patients;
  • Ensure the implementation of all the approved policies and procedures, rules, regulations, protocols and guidelines, clinical pathways that guide and support the provision of clinical services;
  • On-Call as per hospital policy, as needed and will assume the duties of Coordinator of the Department;
  • Participate in the provision of clinical/academic activities of the hospital.


Skills

skills & competencies:

  • Excellent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, the central nervous system and other body systems;
  • Good diagnostic skills to determine the type of disease or condition, its severity and extent;
  • Excellent problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills;
  • The ability to work alone and in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Good time management and organizational skills;
  • The ability to communicate effectively, with patients and staff from a wide range of backgrounds; 
  • Excellent practical skills, to be able to complete clinical neurological examinations;
  • Familiarity with research methods and a willingness to keep knowledge up to date;
  • Leadership ability. 

education & qualifications:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification AND completion of specialty qualification;
  • PhD, Royal College, Fellowship, European/American/Canadian or Arab Board certified;
  • Minimum 6 - 9 years experience post PhD or Board certification;
  • Willing to relocate to Kuwait;
