Technical Support Engineer

  • Provide software related custom integration and implementation support at customer sites, this may include pre-site inspection, initial installation, troubleshooting, implementation, customization, integration, and product orientation for the customer.
  • Install products Mainframe and/or Open Systems hardware environment. 
  • Perform moderately complex and/or extended-stay software implementations. Demonstrate system capabilities, review software operation and management tools, and provide information to customer concerning.
  • Provide proactive recommendations to the customer for improving their use of system storage solutions.
  • Participate in the design and operational execution of the customer's disaster recovery process as required.
  • Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance and necessary data migration, as required.
  • Provide assistance to technical teams in the development of custom solutions and implementation preparation.
  • Adhere to proper escalation and change control procedures.

Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science or any equivalent. Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.Demonstrated Knowledge in Host-based Migrations.Demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies including SNMP, IP.Fiber Channel SAN Experience (using Cisco/Brocade solutions)Experience working autonomously and prioritizing multiple competing priorities.Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to build key relationships with stakeholders, up to and including Manager and Director Levels.Has an experience to engage in discussions about technical subjects and confidently deliver Experience working autonomously and prioritizing multiple competing priorities.
