Apt Resources is proud to announce a strategic leadership opportunity for a Head of Procurement at a leading construction company operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement function, ensuring that the company's material needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s construction projects and overall business goals.
Lead negotiation efforts with suppliers and vendors to secure optimal contracts, pricing, and terms.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
Collaborate with project management teams to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels proactively.
Monitor market trends and analyze supplier performance to enhance procurement efficiency.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices in procurement activities.
Supervise and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
Matching the current market standards and open for discussion Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the construction industry.
Finding new vendors for competitive prices and reducing procurement costs and timelines Proven track record of effectively managing procurement processes, supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts.
Experience working in international environments, specifically in Africa, is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of local and international procurement laws and regulations.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
Fluency in French and English is required.
