We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee substation projects in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, project management methodologies, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. The Project Manager will liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that project goals are met. You will also be responsible for identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of substation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to develop project specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to facilitate project success.
- Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment among all parties involved.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, and report on project status to senior management.
- Identify potential risks and develop risk management strategies to mitigate project delays and cost overruns.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Ensure that all safety and quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in substation technology to enhance project outcomes.
Preferred Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the electrical or energy sector, specifically with substation projects.
- Should have previous experience in 132 kV & 400 kV substation projects.
- Membership with Kuwait Society of Engineers (KSE) is must.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges proactively.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards in all project activities.
- Relevant certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
