Assistant Maintenance Manager

The Assistant Manager - Maintenance Department will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities for container port operations. This role requires an In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment used in container port operations such as Liebherr 550 cranes, container handlers, Trailers, forklifts, and other Heavy Equipment. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment’s to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Coordination:

  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance of equipment.
  • Schedule and assign tasks, ensuring the team meets operational requirements and maintenance schedules.

Maintenance Management:

  • Oversee routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of all heavy equipment including forklifts, trailers, reach stackers etc.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Monitor and maintain maintenance logs, records, and reports.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety audits and training sessions for the maintenance team.
  • Address any safety concerns promptly and effectively.

Inventory and Budget Management:

  • Assist in managing the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
  1. Technical Support:
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the maintenance team for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and best practices in equipment maintenance.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and downtime analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all maintenance procedures and records.

Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a port operations environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment used in container port operations such as forklifts, trailers, and reach stackers.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
