1. Working in close relations with the traders, assist in the co-ordination of Marine, and chartering Operations for moving oil, petroleum products and LPG to meet company’s customers’ term and spot requirements as per contracts.

2. Under the direction of the Manager Marine Operations, co-ordinate the nomination of agents and work with same to ensure prompt and adequate communications.

3. Establish and maintain good working relationships at main ports with the Port Authority management / supervisory staff, shippers, receivers, and agency staff to ensure smooth running shipping operations.

4. Co-ordinate the assessment and checking of demurrage and other claims from owners / brokers within the terms of the Charter Party to ensure validity and thereafter negotiable settlements.

5. Co-ordinate initiation and submission and follow up of demurrage claims against shippers / receivers as per the purchase and sales agreements where applicable.

6. Under the supervision of the Manager Marine Operations and Chartering Manager- build up contacts with marine / shipping representatives to keep abreast of chartering and marine developments, particularly in IPG’s sphere of operations.

7. Assist in estimating Voyage / freight costs for term and spot business opportunities

8. Performs other related duties as requested.

Skills

• Additional Formal training in tanker chartering and operations, ideally the incumbent should have some sea-going experience
• At least five years relevant experience

Education:

• Graduate with technical or Financial Degree from a reputable University- Sea going deck officer.
