1. Promote and enforce a safe and healthy work environment by applicable legislation and company policies and procedures


2. Responsible for the implementation of organizational health & safety, environmental and quality systems within the maintenance domain in order to provide optimal operational conditions.


3. Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering department.


4. Responsible for the successful implementation of highly technical or involved engineering projects in the creation and development of automatic, semi-automatic and manually controlled production machines, auxiliary equipment, or other items presenting new or constantly changing problems of materials, and product uses.


5. Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities


6. Monitors progress against project schedules and budgets; recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals


7. Manage the finances of the engineering function, analyzes financial information, prepares and manages operating and capital budgets, and monitors revenues and expenditures to contain costs.


8. Work with all departments within the facility to assure that inventory, budget, and Plant financial goals and objectives are accomplished.


9. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP and ISO), safety policies, and good housekeeping and that safety and hazard practices are understood and followed.


10. Work to assure Quality Assurance requirements and regulatory compliance are maintained


11. Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence


12. Develop evaluation criteria that will serve to measure the progress and effectiveness of departmental operations


13. Reviews department objectives for adequacy and consistency with corporate objectives


14. Analyze and solves engineering-related problems with the assistance of subordinate managers and department personnel
