Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing the project material (MEP) requisition and sourcing the right and qualified suppliers-
- Responsible for vendors prequalification and performance evaluation.
- Responsible for negotiating, finalizing and executing the purchase order
- Responsible for sending RFQs to qualified suppliers and obtaining offers or quotations from suppliers.
- Interact regularly with Engineering, projects and finance departments to understand technical and financial aspects of the project in order to identify the appropriate source of material supply.
- Source, pre-qualify and evaluate suppliers, purchase requisition, bids, Tenders etc.
- Develop tender documents with detailed specifications to obtain competitive bid.
- Negotiate contract prices and terms and conditions for all commodities and services to ensure best value for money.
- Purchase assigned commodities from approved and qualified suppliers in sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages and recommend cost savings when possible.
- Ensure that all activities are in compliance with company policies and practices.
- Resolve problems that arise in relation to delivery dates, quality, specifications, quantity or cost of purchased goods or services.
- Review requisitions and confers with departments regarding requirements, specifications, quantity and quality of merchandise, and delivery requirements. Recommends alternate suppliers where a savings in cost or improved delivery will result.
- Review discrepant invoices which are not in complete agreement with purchase orders and resolves the discrepancies.
- Establish standard costs for assigned commodities.
- Investigate supplier's financial condition, technical competence, facilities, and production techniques to ensure adequate supply sources.
- Negotiate prices and follows competitive bidding procedures when necessary to ensure the lowest total cost for specific materials, interacting with other departments as necessary.
Skills
Qualifications & competencies
- Bachelor Degree of engineering in Electrical /Mechanical with minimum 2+ years’ experience in the field of MEP.
- Good knowledge of ERP System, MS Office, MS Projects and other common desktop computer utilities .
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills.
