Job description

To prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for plumbing and firefighting projects, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing and firefighting systems.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and BOQs.
• Calculate material, manpower, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare RFQs and coordinate with suppliers for competitive prices.
• Analyze project specifications and identify scope of work and exclusions.
• Prepare technical and commercial tender submissions.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, and project teams during the tendering process.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, and variations in tender documents.
• Ensure estimates are accurate and submitted within the required deadline.
• Assist in preparing value engineering and cost-saving proposals.
• Maintain records of previous estimates, supplier quotations, and project cost data.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings and provide necessary technical/commercial clarifications.
• Follow up on submitted tenders and assist with negotiations when required.

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in estimation and tendering, preferably in Kuwait/GCC.
• Strong experience in Plumbing & Firefighting estimation and tendering.
• Good knowledge of MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and estimation/tendering software.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in MEP contracting, commercial buildings, residential projects, hospitals, or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
