Dental X-Ray Technician Job Description
A Dental X-Ray Technician is responsible for taking high-quality dental radiographs to assist dentists in diagnosing and treating oral health conditions while ensuring patient safety and radiation protection standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental X-ray procedures and explain the process clearly.
- Operate dental radiographic equipment to capture accurate images.
- Take intraoral and extraoral dental X-rays as prescribed by the dentist.
- Ensure proper patient positioning for clear and diagnostic-quality images.
- Follow radiation safety and infection control protocols at all times.
- Use protective equipment such as lead aprons and thyroid collars.
- Process, label, and maintain dental radiographic images and records.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and reports.
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of X-ray equipment.
- Assist dentists during diagnostic and treatment procedures when required.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunction or safety concerns.
- Maintain inventory of radiographic supplies and materials.
- Follow clinic, hospital, and regulatory guidelines related to radiology services.

Qualification Requirements
