Production Manager

Our client is one of the leading bakery chains in the Middle East. They are currently looking for a Production Manager to join their Factory/Plant in Kuwait.


Reporting to: Plant Manager


Job Purpose: The Production Manager is responsible for the production operation and for establishing the production policies and procedures. The Production Manager is in charge of meeting production goals, and should foster a well-trained and motivated staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Directs and coordinates production operations within company policies and procedures.
  • Establishes with the coordination of the Plant Manager the production strategies of the company.
  • Ensures that the production goals are met and that production is cost effective.
  • Implements the rules of hygiene and safety throughout the production areas.
  • Conducts LEAN manufacturing in the plant. Coordinates with the R&D and Quality Assurance to set standards and develop new products.
  • Ensures that Quality Control standards are being abided in the plant.
  • Implements improvement activities through change management process and best practices.
  • Liaises and confers with different department heads (R&D, Maintenance, QC/QA, Sales, Franchise, Purchasing, Admin, HR, Finance, and Logistics)
  • Optimizes resource utilization by the implementation of an effective production organization.
  • Assures production volumes as requested by the sales and operation departments. Ensures that health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Coaches and develop resources to meet business objectives.
  • Motivates team members and periodically evaluate their performance.
  • Strives to reduce overhead charges and overtime. Develops with subordinates SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for all production operations.
  • Manages the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure the best quality is produced consistently.
  • Evaluates competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve objectives.

Communication & Working Relationships: In his capacity, the Production Manager will be directly reporting to the Plant Manager, and shall be responsible for production activities

Skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor of engineering degree in Food Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial or a similar discipline.
  • 10 years of proven experience in similar positions

Physical Requirements: Work might involve moderate exposure to high temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves potential exposure to hazards or physical risks, which requires following basic safety precautions.
