JOB ROLE
To manage the operation of Fresh Food and ensure the provision of a high level of service and profitability of the business.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Monitoring, systematically, departmental costs, and operational performance and alerting the Store Manager of impending issues.
• Ensuring effective implementation of all corporate processes/procedures and standards such as hygiene, sanitation, and security and safety standards.
• Communicating to store personnel corporate standards and correspondent drivers of cost/service level, to facilitate and ensure proper behaviors.
• Implementing loss prevention and shrink procedures, managing the inventory, taking measures to minimize damage, loss, and thefts, and optimizing stock turnover.
• Supporting department managers in the planning, receiving/handling, and replenishment operations with respect to the right level of stock on the shelves, periodic verification of expiration dates for Fresh Foods, Supermarket, and Home Center.
• Ensuring proper implementation of visual merchandising recommendations and as needed adopting refinements imposed by store layout/infrastructure constraints/other constraints maintaining high standards of visual display and customer experience
• Ensuring timely delivery from Fresh Foods suppliers and full coverage of the assortment defined by the Commercial department.
• Providing inputs to Logistics to optimize the replenishment and to Commercial department for possible improvements of assortment/pricing/suppliers, given customers’ requests, local competitors, and suppliers’ behavior.
• Reporting to the Assistant/Store Manager about operational issues and recommending possible solutions.
• Reporting customers’ claims/requests to the Store Manager and taking steps to resolve them as directed.
• Ensuring availability of sufficient levels of in-stock position on basics.
• Ensuring high store standards, apparel rack rules, end cap profile, signing, shelf labeling, etc.
Skills
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• At least 5 years’ experience in managing the Fresh Food department in large retailers/ FMCG companies.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and strong operational management skills
• Expertise in food safety compliance and customer service excellence.
• Problem solving & decision-making skills.
