To provide discipline specific design and drafting services to Worley and its clients, including technical support and supervision both within the Instrumentation & Control

discipline and to other disciplines

Responsibilities

Primary Objectives / Responsibilities

Technical Competency

  • Supports adherence to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
  • Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
  • Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
  • Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
  • Deliver Instrumentation & Control discipline specific design and drafting services that meet Worley, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Apply recognised offshore / onshore engineering practices applicable to Instrumentation & Control design engineering.

Project Execution

  • Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Supports management of project change and progressing for the discipline and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
  • Initiate, design and drafting assignments on projects requirements on time and within budget.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and the client’s requirements.
  • Competent with the project estimating process and can input design deliverables into estimating module.

Major Accountabilities Of Position

Project Deliverables

  • Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares analyses, calculations, etc.
  • Assists with recommendations and helps create final documentation.
  • Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations to support official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
  • Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues internal authorization.
  • Ensuring technical integrity of the Instrumentation & Control deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities.
  • Perform discipline specific design and drafting services such as:
  • ensure the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management processes;
  • if required, participate in studies and analyses and recommend actions;
  • prepare engineering drawings and documentation;
  • ensure all drawings and documents are checked in accordance with Worley checking procedures; and
  • participate in project reviews as required.

Site Support

  • Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, participates in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and incorporates requirements into design.
  • Work with site personnel to resolve issues.
  • Create plans or documents that supports construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
  • May provide on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over.

Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required

Job Specific Knowledge:

  • Personnel shall have the specified minimum project experience in process plants, mainly Oil & Gas or petrochemicals, and shall be knowledgeable of the applicable Engineering codes and standards.
  • Prepare plans, layouts and designs with supporting calculations for specifications, and supply drafting and estimating staff with information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, the development of tools, quantities, materials lists and cost.
  • Check plans, designs, materials purchased and equipment for conformity with specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical detail for sales inquiries, quotations, contract documentation, technical literature or in the analysis of failures following customer complaints.

Industry Specific Experience

  • Minimum of 12-years project experience in Design and engineering of Instrumentation & Control equipments.

Qualifications

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Trade Apprenticeship, Certificate, Diploma, Advance Diploma of Engineering Technology in Instrumentation & Control discipline
