Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Background: Degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.

• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management. Additional qualifications in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) or Laboratory Practices are advantageous.

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in chemical safety protocols, laboratory procedures, and quality control methods. Knowledge of chemical handling, hazardous materials management, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience: Hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or laboratory setting. Proven track record of assisting in the implementation and monitoring of QHSE policies and procedures.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, national, and international regulations and standards related to chemical manufacturing and laboratory operations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, REACH).

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and interpret data, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external partners.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, assess, and address potential risks or non-compliance issues proactively.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to monitoring and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of QHSE management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of QHSE policies and procedures within the chemical manufacturing and laboratory environment.

• Support the QAQC team in conducting regular audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company protocols.

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to quality, health, safety, and environmental performance.

• Facilitate training and awareness programs for staff on QHSE practices, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.

• Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents, compliance issues, and corrective actions taken.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve QHSE related concerns, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.
