We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Market Maker / Trader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining liquidity, managing risk, and executing trades across assigned securities or instruments. This role requires strong analytical abilities, real-time decision-making skills, and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously quote bid and ask prices for assigned securities or instruments to maintain two-sided markets.
- Facilitate trading and liquidity while efficiently managing inventory positions to minimize risk exposure.
- Execute trades promptly and accurately within company and regulatory limits.
- Monitor market conditions, order flow, and pricing trends in real time to make informed trading decisions.
- Analyze market data, price movements, and volatility to optimize spreads and maximize profit margins.
- Identify arbitrage, hedging, and speculative opportunities within the market.
- Develop and implement quantitative models and trading strategies to enhance trading performance.
- Provide market feedback to research and investment teams regarding market behavior and investor sentiment.
- Monitor position limits, exposure, and P&L in real time to ensure adherence to risk parameters.
- Apply appropriate hedging strategies to mitigate market, liquidity, and operational risks.
- Report unusual trading activity or potential market manipulation promptly.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including CMA and Boursa Kuwait regulations.
- Maintain accurate trade records and reports in line with regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews as required.
- Coordinate with Operations and Compliance teams to ensure transparency and integrity in trading activities.
Skills
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in trading, market making, or a similar role in financial markets.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, trading strategies, and risk management.
- Proficient in market analysis, quantitative modeling, and trading software.
- Excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of CMA and local exchange regulations (Boursa Kuwait) is highly desirable.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
